Our founder, Tobe Lawson, started Lawson Electric in 1925 with a passion for providing excellent customer service and continuing the development of Chattanooga.
Since our establishment in 1925, we have grown to become one of Tennessee’s largest electrical contractors with an expansive portfolio of successful projects. We manifest our commitment to quality through our dedicated employees. We were founded as a family business, and we continue to carry on that legacy through our employees. We believe that we have the best team in the industry; the majority of employees stay with us for a lifetime.
As a premier electrical service company, we have learned to listen to our customers, determine their needs, and use our knowledge and experience to help solve their problems. We work hard to give our customers the best value for their money because our prosperity is tied to our customer’s satisfaction, and we want to be part of their success. We offer a substantial depth of experience in all things electrical, and we pride ourselves on quality work.

The most valuable asset of Lawson Electric Company is our employees. The purpose of our safety program is to provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. It is our goal to use every reasonable effort to achieve an accident free and healthy workplace environment. Each of our residential electricians go through a five year apprenticeship with complete electrical training. They also receive OSHA 10 Safety training, First Aid instruction, and CPR certification.
Lawson Electric Company has participated in the Tennessee Drug-free Workplace Program since 1998. Promoting a drug-free culture at Lawson Electric helps reduce the potential for accidents on the jobsite and at home. All employees receive annual drug-free workplace training to promote a healthy lifestyle. Training is a vital part of our successful safety program.
Lastly, all Lawson employees have access to a corporate chaplain program to ensure all physical, psychological, and spiritual needs they may have are met.

Over 500 construction personnel, field electricians, professional engineers, project managers, designers, industrial automation professionals, management, and clerical staff are committed to making your project successful.
Lawson Electric’s significant investments in state-of-the-art equipment and human resources allow Lawson to serve its customers with the tools and manpower required when special needs arise.
Approximately 50% of our annual sales is a result of negotiated design/build work. This is accomplished through long standing relationships with leading general contractors and Lawson Electric’s commercial and industrial customer base.
